Beginning on Wednesday, the Michigan State University Opera Theater will open a four-performance run of the delightful comic opera, "The Elixir of Love" by Donizetti. Director of the company and stage director of this production, Melanie Helton, has asked Marcello Cormio to conduct the opera.

Cormio, whose long, wavy black hair fulfills our image of what an Italian opera conductor should look like, is happy to be back for his third time conducting at MSU. "Melanie always has me back during the fall and has David Beckwith in the spring – it's a good mix for students," he said.
