An Italian Festival will be Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, at the Calvary Arts Center, 447 S. Main St., New Lexington. Friday events will be from 5 to 10 p.m. and include bounce house and slide for youth, historical displays of local Italian families and food vendors. An Italian cook-off will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with attendees able to vote on their favorite dish for a cost of $5. The cook-off winner and the festival king and queen will be named at 7 p.m. Music by Paola Semprini and a guest from the Opera of Columbus will be at 8 p.m.

Saturday events start with Chef Constrisciania of Hocking College giving an Italian cooking demonstration and tasting at 11 a.m. for $5. Food, games and rides will be from noon to 10 p.m. “The Liar’s Bench” bicentennial play will be at 6 p.m. for $5. Nick Fiore, Patti George, Mike Lollo, Brandy Fiore and others will provide entertainment from 8 to 10 p.m.
