The February meeting of the Italian American Cultural Club held at St. Florian Hall was all about the “Carnivale of Venice.” Member Todd Piergallini told stories of the history of carnivale in Venice, Italy. The evening was celebrated with decorative masks and beads. With jazz music by John Patrick, club members celebrated Mardi Gras as well.
Doby Piergallini, chairman of the scholarship committee, has applications available, it was noted. The committee for the club’s spring party has been planning the upcoming fundraiser. Todd Piergallini announced that “April Fool’s Italian Style” — or as Italians call it, “Pesce d’Aprile” (fish of April) — will be held March 31 at St. Florian Hall.
