Big changes are afoot this year for Farmington's annual festival. Instead of the long-running Italian Fest, this year the community will celebrate an earlier event with a new moniker. Summer Festival will be held Saturday. And instead of the hunt for the Grande Pomodoro, this year festival organizers at the Farmington Chamber of Commerce are launching the "Find the Farmer" contest beginning today.
The successful puzzle-solver will win $1,000 in cash, donated by the Bank of Farmington and Lozier Oil Company. Other than festival committee members, everyone is eligible to search for and find the "Farmer" icon. It will be found on public property in Farmington or Farmington Township Park.
