Laurence Pasquesi wasn't looking for mistakes when he first visited the World War I monument that was erected in 1926 to honor the 363 Highland Park residents who served during the global conflict.
When he discovered two misspelled names of Italian-American servicemen on future visits, however, he couldn't let the mistakes go uncorrected. Though nine decades have passed since the monument was erected at Laurel and Prospect avenues in Highland Park, Pasquesi and others thought it important to give all who served due credit.
