If you like planning and being in control of your properties in US and Italy, you should have a will in place rather than letting default succession rules to apply to your estate. In this event you will learn about wills, how to deal with and what strategies you should put in place in order to keep control of your properties and investments both in Italy and US. Leading this session is Nick Metta, a Filitalia International member and Italian lawyer based in Doylestown, PA.
About Nick Metta: Nicola Maria (Nick) Metta is the partner leading the International department at the law firm Studio Legale Metta in Bari, Italy. Lawyer since 2000, he received his Ph.D. in Tax Law in 2009. He worked in the legal department of Ernst & Young in Rome until 2001. He then joined the international Tax Department of the law firm Baker & McKenzie and focused on international estate planning and tax law.
In 2004 he joined Studio Legale Metta and founded the International department. He currently focuses his practice on cross-border matters assisting foreign clients with matters involving Estate Planning, Real Estate, Tax, Inheritance, Succession, Citizenship and Immigration. Since 2017 Nick is also admitted to discuss cases at the Italian Supreme Court level.
For years he has been an active international real estate investor with many deals done in Italy and in the US. This, along with his international personal life experience, remarkably improved the understanding of his clients concerns, needs and expectations.
Nick published several articles in the areas of taxation and international law. He is a regular speaker and guest lecturer on estate planning and international legal matters at both Italian and foreign institutions like University LUM Jean Monnet, Bucks County Bar Association (PA), Italian Cultural Institute (London), Matera Bar Association, Bari Bar Association, ForFinance Milan and ForFinance Rome.
