Rosie Bongiovanni was surrounded by her family Sunday, Feb. 21 as she celebrated her 102nd birthday. While her family and friends at Linwood Care Center sang Happy Birthday, she preferred to sing for them and sat smiling through a rendition of "Parlami d'amore," which translated means "Speak to Me of Love."
Rosie's daughter, Annette Bailine of Seneca, S.C., said it was one of her mother's favorite songs to sing as they were growing up. The birthday girl is a lifelong Atlantic County resident. A first generation Italian American, she was the second oldest of nine children; seven brothers and one sister.
