Meat cutter's food, wine upheld Italian traditions

Steak and homemade spaghetti were Frank Cestello's favorite dishes to prepare for Sunday dinners. His family knew only the best ingredients went into it, because the Derry Township man grew the tomatoes for the sauce in his garden and, as a meat cutter by trade, he knew the best cuts to use in a recipe.

"He was always at the stove cooking," said Marie, his wife of 61 years, whom he met when they both were working in the meat department at a Kroger supermarket. "We cooked together a lot. When women came in (to the store) and wanted to cook some meat, he had to tell them how to do it."
