Matthew A. DiPaula of Mount Laurel passed suddenly Saturday, June 10, 2017, due to an aneurysm, and was rushed to Virtua Marlton. While his loving family was holding his hands, our Lord and Savior then gently took hold of his hands to bring him home. He was 87.
My father was born Sept. 10, 1929, to Italian immigrant parents, Giuseppe DiPaolo (Nusco, Italy) and Antonia (Pastore) DiPaolo (Nusco, Italy). He was a devoted and caring son to his mother and father. My father was preceded in death by his sister, Nicolina (DiPaolo) Capozzoli in 2001, his brother, James J. DePaula in 2013, and sister-in-law, Ellen (Skudar) DePaula in 2007. He also was uncle to nieces and a nephew to his sister Lena's children and like a surrogate uncle figure to some of my mother Rosetta's family.
