The annual Scranton Chapter of UNICO National Charity Ball is set for Saturday at the Radisson at Lackawanna Station hotel in downtown Scranton, according to chapter President Peter Cognetti. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7. Reservations are needed and may be obtained by calling 570-499-1534 or email here. The chapter has been publicly recognized both regionally and nationally for its outstanding support to those in need.
This year the chapter is honoring member Melanie Naro as UNICAN of the Year. A native of “The Hill” in Dunmore, Naro is a graduate of Dunmore High School, the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University School of Law. Presently, she is the executive director of UNICO National, the largest Italian American service organization in the United States.
