The Hackensack chapter of UNICO National, the largest Italian-American service organization in the United States honored Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino as its Citizen of the Year at a ceremony held on Sunday - March 17, 2016.
The event was held at the Brick House Restaurant in Wyckoff, New Jersey. Saudino, who is running for reelection this year, was first elected Sheriff in November 2010 and reelected in 2016, both times as a Republican. In January, the popular Bergen County Sheriff announced he would be switching parties and would run as a Democrat in 2016.
