Started in 1947, the Strega Prize is the most prestigious Italian literary award. A special book club at the IIC participates in the ballot that produces the finalists. The final round of voting, followed by the proclamation of the winner, takes place on the first Thursday in July in the nymphaeum of the Villa Giulia, Rome. Organized by the IIC with Fondazione Maria e Goffredo Bellonci and Liquore Strega. By invitation only.
