It's been nearly three years since I took the post of Consul General of Italy in San Francisco, and while a lot has happened, many themes of San Francisco Italy remain strongly in force: Italians are contributing to Silicon Valley in meaningful ways; Italy is attracting world-class talent to set up shop in Europe; Italian language is growing in strength in the Bay; Italian culture remains a strong influence on the world, typified by Expo Milano now in effect.

When I first came here, I shared with you a video, produced by Roberto dal Bosco, where we chatted in a Fiat 500 as we drove around Rome. It's amazing to see that video, to see our early aspirations and now see how far we have come.
