Little Italy is one of San Diego's most lively and ever-changing communities, with new restaurants going in and new buildings going up seemingly every week. Now, its past will be equally as dynamic. A new app being launched today, uses augmented reality (AR) to bring Little Italy's history to life on mobile devices.
With the Little Italy San Diego app, users can hold their device up to a modern-day site, such as Napizza on India Street, and a vintage black and white photo taken from the same spot will appear on the screen.
