Michéal Castaldo Performs Amo L’America at 7th Annual Festival Della Canzone Italiana di New York

Michéal Castaldo, an award-winning classical crossover singer and songwriter, debuted his brand new song, Amo L'America, at the 7th Annual Festival Della Canzone Italiana di New York on September 14. Castaldo was accompanied by the RCO Strings.

The festival is organized each year by L'Associazione Culturale Italiana Di New York, a nonprofit organization located in Ridgewood, New York. This year's festival was held at the Hugh P. Kirwan Performing Arts Center in Middle Village, New York, which seats 1000 people. The entire festival was video taped by RAI TV and will be aired internationally at a later date.

Castaldo's new song, Amo L'America, was released as a digital-single the next day (Sept. 15). This uplifting song is about his story and the story of countless others that took the same path in life, leaving their homeland and emigrating to America. Italians living in Italy dream of coming to America (the "land of opportunity"), and Italians living in America dream of one day going back to their roots and seeing the home of their ancestors. The song is about seizing the opportunities we are given in life and making the most of them. A vibrant music video of the song can be viewed on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GR7bxVQEeHE.

Michéal Castaldo is the living embodiment of authentic Italian culture. A native of Calabria in the "tip of the toe" of Italy, Michéal is an accomplished pop-classical crossover singer of his native songs. Castaldo, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, has performed at Carnegie Hall and Shea Stadium, and was featured live on ABC TV for his performance on the red carpet during the 2012 Columbus Day Parade. In March 2014, he was awarded the Top Artist award by ArtistSignal.com. For more information about Michéal, visit www.michealCASTALDO.com.
