They came to Italy for work, love, retirement, a home, a business opportunity or simply a different life. Then they stayed, became part of their communities and started experiencing Italy not as visitors, but as locals.
We call them Relocals: people who have chosen Italy as a place to live, developed a genuine relationship with its territories and can tell the story of the country through their everyday experience.
The Relocals project starts with an initial study involving 100 people from abroad who have chosen to make Italy their home. Through questionnaires and interviews, the project will explore who they are, why they chose Italy, what happened after their arrival and how they now describe the country to others.

Rome will be only the starting point. After the first presentation, Relocals will travel across Italy, meeting people in cities, towns and territories throughout the country and expanding the research through their experiences.
We the Italians will accompany the project on this journey, involving its communities in Italy and abroad and helping to discover how Italy is seen through the eyes of those who arrived from elsewhere and chose to become part of it.
Sono arrivati in Italia per lavoro, per amore, per la pensione, per acquistare una casa, per un'opportunità professionale o semplicemente alla ricerca di una vita diversa. Poi hanno deciso di restare.
Li chiamiamo Relocals: persone provenienti dall'estero che hanno scelto l'Italia come luogo in cui vivere, costruendo un rapporto autentico con il territorio e diventando testimoni della vita quotidiana nel nostro Paese.
Il progetto Relocals parte da un primo studio dedicato a 100 persone che hanno scelto di vivere in Italia. Attraverso questionari e interviste cercheremo di capire chi sono, perché hanno scelto l'Italia, cosa è successo dopo il loro arrivo e come raccontano oggi il nostro Paese.

Roma sarà soltanto il punto di partenza. Dopo la prima presentazione, Relocals attraverserà l'Italia incontrando persone che vivono nelle grandi città, nei piccoli centri e nei territori meno raccontati, ampliando progressivamente la ricerca.
We the Italians accompagnerà il progetto coinvolgendo le proprie comunità in Italia e all'estero, per comprendere come appare l'Italia attraverso gli occhi di chi è arrivato da un altro Paese e ha scelto di diventarne parte.
We the Italians is a company that in 10 years has become a key relational hub between Italy and the community of the more than 20 million Italian Americans in the United States. We have built a set of information channels that monthly reaches 3 million Italian Americans.
We have also consolidated an unparalleled geographical presence, structuring a network of more than 80 Ambassadors in all the Italian regions, across all 50 American states, plus ten focused on specific themes.
