A century leaves a lot of time to make or mark milestones. Gino D’Ambrosio, a resident of Warren who was a World War II veteran who died recently at the age of 101, certainly seems to have done that and more in his lifetime.
Mr. D’Ambrosio was a graduate of Cooley High School in Detroit. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943 and participated in D-Day as a disrupter, flying into France on a glider, and landing behind enemy lines. He was captured during the Battle of the Bulge and was held as a prisoner of war for several months.
