Italy’s wine industry is discovering that some of its most valuable customers are not found in restaurants or retail stores – they are arriving directly at winery gates. Across the country, wine tourism continues to expand, helping wineries increase direct sales, diversify revenue streams, and strengthen their connection with consumers.
Recent industry surveys show that more than 60% of Italian wineries have recorded higher direct sales thanks to wine tourism activities. For many businesses, the increase ranges between 11% and 30%, demonstrating that hospitality is no longer a side activity but an increasingly important part of the wine business model.
