Lane (a Webuild Group company) has been awarded a $1 billion contract for the Ohio River Tunnel, a key environmental project in Pennsylvania that is about to be built in Pittsburgh. The project, a key component of the Regional Tunnel System, will be built by Lane (50%) in a joint venture with local partner Brayman.
The infrastructure, according to a press release, will function as a massive underground network, running between 36 and 45 meters underground to prevent excess wastewater from directly discharging into the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio rivers. This transformative project for regional water infrastructure combines precision engineering with a modern vision of land management.
