Nearly 450 guests gathered Oct. 26 at D’Argenzio Winery in Vintner’s Square for the North Bay Italian Cultural Foundation’s most significant fundraiser of the year, the Festa Italiana di Santa Rosa. While final figures are still being tallied, George Golfieri, president of the foundation, confirmed a preliminary total of $2,800 raised at the event.
“We’ve still got money coming in,” Golfieri noted, highlighting the ongoing nature of the fundraising effort, which returned last year after a nearly decade-long hiatus. In addition to the Festa, the foundation also raised more than $1,000 in August at its 11th annual Pizza, Birra & Vino event, held outdoors at the foundation’s Santa Rosa headquarters. Both fundraisers support the foundation’s scholarship program, which funds Italian language and study-abroad opportunities at Santa Rosa Junior College.
