The Ulster County Italian American Foundation is set to present an Italian cinema showcase from Friday, April 24, through Sunday, April 26, the foundation announced. In a press release, organizers said the showcase, organized in collaboration with Upstate Films, Bard College, Vassar College, and Marist University, will feature five films, as well as live music, discussions, and more.
The showcase kicks off Friday, April 24 at the Orpheum Theater, 156 Main St., with a VIP welcome reception at 5 p.m. followed by the 2023 film, “La chimera,” at 6 p.m. On Saturday, April 25, the showcase moves to the Starr Cinema, 6415 Montgomery St., Rhinebeck, with three screenings. The 2024 film, “Vermiglio,” will be shown at 11 a.m., followed by the 2020 film, “Le Sorelle Macaluso,” at 2:30 p.m., and the 2025 film, “Eivira Notari: Beyond Silence,” at 6 p.m.
