New York City’s Little Italy is set to honor a titan of world cinema this spring. From April 16 to August 29, 2026, the Italian American Museum (IAM) will host “Totò and His Naples,” a landmark traveling exhibition dedicated to Antonio De Curtis—the comedic genius known globally by the stage name Totò.
Presented in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute and Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the exhibit arrives at a symbolic moment: the 2,500th anniversary of the founding of Naples. For the millions of Americans of Neapolitan descent, Totò is not merely an actor; he is the soul of their ancestral home personified.
