Italian clean energy is embracing hydrogen in bold new ways – thanks to a handful of startups reimagining how it is produced, stored, and used. Three of them are leading the charge with inventive technologies.
Tulum Energy is working with “turquoise” hydrogen – produced by breaking down methane through pyrolysis in a way that yields solid carbon instead of CO₂ emissions. Their method pairs well with steel-making because they use electric arc furnaces, similar to those already found in many steel plants.
