The Franklin County Visitors Bureau is hosting an exhibit that sheds light on a lesser-known chapter of World War II history. The "Letterkenny World War II Italian Prisoner of War Experience" is on display at the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center in Chambersburg, according to a community announcement.
The exhibit, which runs through Veterans Day 2025, tells the story of Italian prisoners of war who were housed at the Letterkenny Depot during the war. It also highlights the Letterkenny Chapel, which was built by the POWs.
