Saturday, September 19th, join the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum for a special afternoon with author Theresa Lombardi Magistro, who will discuss her newly published memoir, Antonetta: An Immigrant’s Story.
Born in Italy in 1901, Antonetta was a courageous and determined woman whose journey carried her from an impoverished village to a new life across the Atlantic—and even included a brief adventure in television.
Told through the voice of her youngest child, the book preserves the stories that Antonetta’s great-grandchildren treasured and asked to hear time and again, including a moving experience involving Padre Pio.
Guests will have the opportunity to hear from the author, learn more about the inspiration behind the memoir, and celebrate the enduring legacy of the Italian immigrant experience.
