Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata stands as one of the most cherished operas in history. Since its debut in 1853, the Italian masterpiece has enchanted audiences with its lush score and enduring story of love and sacrifice. Its impact extends far beyond the opera house, inspiring countless films, literature and other art forms—evident in works like Pretty Woman and Moulin Rouge!, which echo its timeless themes.
The Atlanta Opera will kick off its latest season with Vedi’s timeless classic in performances at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on Nov. 8, 11, 14 and 16.
