Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. presented a scholarship check from the New York Conference of Italian American State Legislators, of which he is a member, to Emma Fernandez of Ozone Park who is set to graduate from St. Francis Preparatory School and will attend New York University (NYU) in the fall.
She received the Conte Memorial Academic Scholarship in the amount of $3,000. Senator Addabbo presented her with an oversized novelty check at his Woodhaven District Office on June 11, 2026, to commemorate her achievements. The New York Conference of Italian American State Legislators awards four $3,000 scholarships each year to New York students who excel academically, help their communities, and demonstrate financial need.
