About 1,000 people came out to Kennedy Park on Saturday evening for a celebration that combined Italian music and food with boxing and a screening of the classic movie Rocky under the stars. The Sayreville Cultural Arts Committee (CAC)'s Italian Festival and Rocky Movie Screening featured a live performance by Patsy Palma, a Sayreville school teacher and Italian singer, Italian food trucks, a mini café setting, and a live boxing demonstration by Results Boxing.
Palma quickly won over the crowd with his performance, adding an Italian flair to an evening that celebrated both the community's heritage and the 50th anniversary of Rocky. The event's live boxing demonstration brought a local connection to the classic Rocky films. Results Boxing owner Jon Gallo and his trainers brought a full boxing ring to Kennedy Park, where local students demonstrated their skills for the crowd.
