Mel's is one of those restaurants that patrons of a certain age particularly enjoy. The experience isn't about cutting edge cuisine or high-concept decor; instead Mel's is a place where fond memories can be found on the menu.
A Holyoke tradition since the late 1920s, Mel's occupies a converted residence in that city's Highlands neighborhood. The ambiance is definitely 20th century casual, with booths and tables as well as a separate lounge offering a variety of seating choices.
