Seven years ago, in a 2019 Mesabi Daily News story, Dominic Elioff talked about the inevitable demise of I Cantatori, the popular Iron Range Italian singing group, the name of which translates as “The Singers.” This week, Elioff, 95, reminisced again.
“We went to Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, to Michigan,” he said. “They accepted us wherever we went. They loved our music! We brought back old tunes that are lost now.” Elioff continued. “Italians like entertainment.”
