Remembering Amato Berardi: Philadelphia Society dedicates social hall in his honor

The Società Italiana di M.S. Sant’Antonio di Padova – Unione Fraterna Longanese invites members, family, and friends to a dedication ceremony honoring Hon. Amato Libero Berardi on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

The event will take place at 9550 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19150. During the ceremony, the Society will formally dedicate and rename its social hall as the “Sala Sociale della Società di Sant’Antonio Amato Libero Berardi.”

The tribute recognizes Berardi’s unwavering commitment, exemplary leadership as President, and lasting contributions to the Society. A reception will follow, with refreshments provided by the Society and local restaurants and bakeries. The invitation is respectfully extended by President Ernesto Veneziale.

Amato Libero Berardi was born in Longano, Molise, and emigrated to Philadelphia as a young boy. He became a successful entrepreneur, founding Berardi & Associates in 1983, and was deeply involved in Italian American civic life. In 2008, he was elected to Italy’s Chamber of Deputies to represent Italians abroad in North and Central America, serving until 2013. He was also co-founder of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce of Philadelphia and a respected leader in the Italian American community. Berardi passed away in Rome in December 2025, leaving a legacy of service, identity, and love for both Italy and the United States.
