A former East Main Street bar is being transformed into an Italian restaurant and steakhouse by a longtime restaurateur from Brooklyn. Geppetto Osteriais expected to open by November, and will serve a variety of Italian specialties, along with 48-ounce steaks.
Carlo Pulixi has worked on renovating O’Connor’s Public House at 26 E. Main St. all summer with his wife, Michelle, and son Federico, using repurposed board wood from a local vendor, installing handcrafted wooden benches and tables, building a new bar topped with glossy copper, and refurbishing a vintage wood stove.
