Napoli leads Italy into the era of smart roads

For decades, Italy has been known for its historic roads, engineering achievements, and strategic transportation corridors. Now, one of the country’s busiest urban highways is becoming a symbol of the future. In June 2026, the Tangenziale di Napoli officially became the first road in Italy to receive Smart Road certification from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, marking a major milestone in the nation’s digital transformation of mobility.
