Milan Cortina 2026 boosts jobs and delivers billions to Italy’s economy

The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo are doing more than bringing world-class sport back to Italy – they are acting as a major economic engine for the country. Organizers and analysts say the Games are generating tens of thousands of jobs and boosting national output by billions of euros, with effects that stretch far beyond the competition period itself.

Estimates indicate that the Milan-Cortina 2026 project will lead to the creation of roughly 38,000 jobs across the country, with the strongest concentrations in the regions of Lombardy, Veneto, and Trentino-Alto Adige.
