It’s late May 2026, and Lucia Aniello ’04CC is sitting onstage alongside the cast and co-creators of Hacks, the series finale of which just screened in front of a raucous Los Angeles crowd of 725 Emmy voters, crewmembers, and obsessed fans.
Aniello directed and co-wrote the last chapter of the Emmy-winning comedy centering on the unlikely bond between Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a salty seventy-year-old Las Vegas comedian, and Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), a cynical Gen Z comedy writer.
