Bellefontaine came together Sunday evening at the Holland Theatre to honor one of the city’s most accomplished athletes, Louie Vito, who was presented with a Key to the City of Bellefontaine by Mayor David Crissman. Earlier that afternoon, Vito also took part in the America 250 Parade in downtown Bellefontaine, driving the car pictured above as part of the community celebration.
Vito, a graduate of Stratton Mountain School in Vermont, has represented both the United States and Italy on the world stage. He competed for Team USA at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver before representing Italy at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina.
