The 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic was celebrated on Sunday evening at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a venue chosen not only for its iconic status in the city but also for its powerful symbolic connection to Italy’s past and future.
Hosted by Consul General Raffaella Valentini, the Festa della Repubblica brought together members of the Italian American community, local institutions, business leaders, athletes and representatives of the Olympic movement for an evening centered on friendship and the upcoming transition from the Winter Olympics in Italy to the Summer Games in Los Angeles.
