Each year, the Lido Civic Club of Washington DC conducts two Wounded Warrior Dinners in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus – Rock Creek Council #2797 in Bethesda, MD.
The purpose is not simply to provide a great meal. It is an opportunity to get out of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center - Ft Belvoir Hospital Warrior Transition Unit and spend time with others in a relaxed atmosphere.
Our first Wounded Warrior Dinner for 2026 was held on Friday, June 26th. Approximately twelve Lido members served 56 service members and caregivers/family members. This group included service members wounded in Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain.
We wish to thank Rear Admiral Don Loren, US Navy, Ret. for organizing these events. It should be noted that of the Lido members in attendance, five were veterans.
