Legendary Italian automotive design and engineering consultant Italdesign-Giugiaro has opened its first Detroit office with an eye to engineering and design work for locally based automakers, startups and suppliers. You might not recognize the name, but you will recognize the landmark vehicles and consumer goods the consultant helped create.
At Italdesign USA’s Bloomfield Hills office, the walls are adorned with photos as reminders, from the original DeLorean and trendsetting first-generation Volkswagen Golf/Rabbit to streetcars and the stunning new Quintessenza prototype EV that’s also a billboard for the company’s engineering and design services.
