Laura Pausini to co-host Sanremo 2026 alongside Carlo Conti

Laura Pausini, one of Italy’s most internationally recognized music artists, has been confirmed as co-host of the 2026 Sanremo Music Festival, joining veteran presenter Carlo Conti. The announcement was made on January 12 and officially ties Pausini to all five nights of the festival, scheduled to take place from February 24 to February 28, 2026, at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, on Italy’s Ligurian coast.

The role represents a symbolic milestone in Pausini’s career. Her rise began at Sanremo in 1993, when she won the newcomers category at just 18 years old. That victory marked the start of a career that now spans more than 30 years, over 70 million records sold worldwide, and performances in more than 40 countries. She returned to the competition in 1994, finishing third, and has since appeared at the festival several times as a guest performer.

Carlo Conti, who will also act as artistic director, emphasized that Pausini’s experience and global appeal make her a natural fit for the event. The 2026 edition is expected to feature around 24 competing artists, alongside emerging acts and special guests, continuing Sanremo’s long-standing mix of tradition and innovation. As in recent years, the winner of the main competition is expected to be offered the opportunity to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, set to be held in Vienna.

Pausini described the invitation as both emotional and meaningful, noting that Sanremo has been part of her life since childhood. Stepping onto the Ariston stage as a host, she said, feels like completing a full circle - from young debutant to one of the central figures of Italy’s most iconic music event.
