A recent YouGov survey ranks lasagna as the second most popular Italian food for all American adults, just behind macaroni and cheese. And if you ask just Gen X or male respondents, it shoots right to the top.
The latest United States Census data shows approximately 16.8 million people claim Italian-American heritage in some form, the fourth largest group of European descent. It’s no wonder Italian cultural traditions and foods are so prevalent in America. Even with the wide variety of popular pastas, nothing quite represents Italian-Americans as much as lasagna.
