Italy’s historic villages are drawing growing attention online, revealing an appetite for destinations where regional identity, architecture, and landscape come together. From coastal Otranto to lakeside Limone sul Garda, the latest search trends highlight the appeal of exploring Italy through its smaller communities.
The third edition of “Borghi italiani online 2026,” produced by the Telepass Observatory with Moveo, Seed Digital, and Change Media, recorded more than 106.4 million searches in 2025. That represents a 13% increase over 2024 and the highest level in the five-year period examined.
