Italy has reinforced its position at the forefront of Europe’s efforts to combat online disinformation. The Italian Digital Media Observatory (IDMO) has been awarded European Union funding for the third consecutive time, ensuring the continuation of its research, fact-checking, and media literacy activities under the Digital Europe Programme.
The renewed funding confirms the European Commission’s confidence in Italy’s national hub and its contribution to the broader European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO), a network that connects independent researchers, universities, fact-checkers, and media literacy experts across the continent. The objective is to improve the understanding of disinformation, strengthen public resilience, and provide reliable analysis of emerging online information threats.
