Italy’s construction industry is demonstrating its economic strength at home while its engineering and architecture companies expand their influence abroad. Two reports released in October 2026 highlight a sector generating employment, increasing exports, and contributing to major infrastructure projects worldwide.
According to the 2026 Federcostruzioni report, prepared with research organization Cresme and presented at the SAIE construction fair in Bologna, Italy’s broad construction supply chain produced €648.7 billion in 2025, up 0.9% from the previous year. Employment increased 3%, reaching 3.4 million people – approximately 14% of the country’s workforce.
