In 2025 the artificial intelligence (AI) market in Italy grew dramatically, expanding roughly 50 % in value compared to 2024 and reaching around €1.8 billion. This surge in market size underscores how AI has moved beyond early experimentation into more tangible adoption across industries and workplaces. It also highlights a maturing ecosystem of firms, technologies and workforce skills tied to AI innovation.
The latest data show that nearly half of the total market volume – about 46 % – is now derived from generative AI tools and hybrid AI solutions that combine different methods, while the remaining 54 % stems largely from traditional machine learning applications.
