Sunday, May 31, 2026. Little Italy, Downtown San Pedro (Start/Finish area). The Italian American community will once again lace up its running shoes as the beloved Italy RunLA 5K returns for its 5th edition, bringing together families, runners, supporters, and community leaders for a day of fitness, culture, and Italian American pride.
Over the past five years, Italy RunLA 5K has grown into more than just a race: it has become a celebration of heritage, unity, and giving back. Participants of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this exciting event that highlights the vibrant spirit of the largest Italian American community in Southern California.
This year’s run will feature a scenic 5K run/walk followed by some sponsor activations at the newly-opened Piazza Miramare, which has quickly become an important gathering spot for the local community.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate the 5th edition of Italy RunLA 5K,” said, LILAA Vice President John De Girolamo. “What started as a community gathering has become a tradition that brings people together through wellness, friendship, and cultural pride.”
Newly-elected LILAA President Anna Manunza remarks that "This year, the Italy Run LA 5K carries even greater meaning as we proudly celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Italian Republic — honoring Italian heritage, community, and the enduring spirit that unites us across generations. We are deeply moved by the strong response and participation as this event continues to grow. We are deeply grateful to the Port of Los Angeles, Council District 15, Sistema Italia, Tile Sponsor Sports Research and all our Sponsors, volunteers, community partners, and participants who continue to help Italy RunLA 5K grow year after year. Without them this event would never have been possible.
Participants are encouraged to wear their Italian colors and bring family and friends for a memorable morning filled with energy, music, and community spirit.
