A book bought at a neighborhood bookstore can become the beginning of something much bigger: a classroom conversation, a family reading ritual, or a child's first favorite story. That possibility drives #ioleggoperché, Italy's book donation campaign, returning November 7–15, 2026, with its largest community.
Organized by the Italian Publishers Association, the 11th edition brings together 30,610 schools, 4,004 nurseries, and 4,135 bookstores, reaching more than 4.4 million children and students. Since 2015, the initiative has delivered 4.5 million books to libraries in more than half of Italy's schools, helping turn acts of generosity into lasting educational resources.
