Italy is stepping into one of the most radical frontiers of computing with a project that blends neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and a distinctly Italian research tradition. At the University of Milan, a new experimental study is exploring biological computing using living human neurons integrated into a computing platform.
The initiative is led in partnership with Reply, a technology group founded in Italy and still deeply rooted in the country’s innovation ecosystem, and represents the first structured research effort of its kind in Europe.
