Pasquale (Pat) Carlino emigrated to America with his parents Nicola, Angela (Mama Carlino) and his older brother Carmine, when he was just 6 years old. His wife Laura (née Di Nardo), also came from the Chieti region with her parents Nicola and Santina when she was nine.

If you’ve been visiting Carlino’s Markets over the decades, you know it’s like a wonderland that keeps growing. Pat shares it’s been over 43 years in the making: “So much sacrifice went into it. When we came from Italy we really came with nothing. Our parents relied on family and community in their quest to build their American dream, and had to spend extended time apart.
