All four of Calogero’s grandparents emigrated to America from Sicily. His father, Lorenzo Giacomo Paolo Antonio Palminteri, was born in Brooklyn, NY; his mother, Rosaria (Rosina) Cristina Maria Sofia Anello, was born in the Bronx. It wasn’t until the couple (who met at a dance) “got serious” that Lorenzo moved to the Bronx, much to the chagrin of his mama.
